Tiskarna Casia Trutnov, Ltd., is a long standing, Soma customer. Eleven years ago, they made an important investment in purchasing a Somaflex Midi 800-8 UVG flexographic printing press equipped with UV curing technology and have in the meantime added both a Soma laminator and slitter rewinder to meet increased production capacity.
“The Soma press has been serving our purposes for eleven years and apart from routine maintenance is flawless and very reliable. UV curable inks have many advantages and outperform alcohol or water based formulations in terms of graphics and production. Colours are more intense and the final product provides sharper text and prints as well as providing scuff resistance meeting the demands of markets such as beauty and pharmaceutical. Print runs can be repeated with consistency and UV curable inks can be left in the press until needed again which also reduces wash up and down times. In terms of short runs and quality, UV printing is still considered to offer better quality graphics and scuff resistance properties than current digital technology.
